Former WCA 3x3x3 Speedsolve World Record - 12.11 seconds
I held the World Cubing Association official world record for a 3x3x3 fastest single solve with 12.11 seconds until Jean Pons broke the record at Dutch Open 2005 with his 11.75 seconds. Below is a simulation of that solve, the exact way I solved it at Caltech Spring Tournament on April 3, 2004. Yu can watch a video of the actual attempt at Dan Henage's cubing page.

As you can see, although the solve was technically not 'lucky,' I had a nice F2L and some of the fastest last layer cases.

Former WCA 3x3x3 One-handed World Record - 23.76 seconds
I set this record at Horrace Mann Spring tournament on May 28, 2005 and was also part of the WR mean of 3, 27.56. Ryan Patricio broke both of these with a new world record of 22.05 and mean of 26.73 at Caltech Fall tournament 2005. A big thanks to Ian Winokur, the organizer of Horrace Mann. sVideo of this solve is available on Horace Mann Tournament DVD along with virtually all world/national records broken in that tournament.

I had a rather awkward cross, but everything else turned out amazingly well. OLL was fairly easy, and PLL was one of my fastest one-handed cases.
